We had a question a week or so back about the appropriateness of making photos of the Amish at the funerals of the girls who were shot to death at the school.

I’m just pleased to know it wasn’t just me. I still have a distaste in my mouth, especially after reading that incredibly self-serving last line of hers, but I do have a greater insight into the deliberation that did occur and am glad that at least some pause occurred.
Esbee’s right. The ombudsman’s last sentence is very self serving, and it is nice to know that these decisions aren’t made lightly. I also liked the fact that they showed the situation re. photographing the Amish to be more complex than most of us know.
